Who's Who?

Johanna Sievers

Director NSDC/NSDC Sports

Johanna is beginning her seventh year as director of North Shore Day Camp in addition to her nine years as director of JCYS Camp Henry Horner.  During the school year, Johanna is co-director of Early Childhood Education at Lutz, where she can see many of her campers year-round and find out what they enjoyed most and what they would like to see more of at camp.

Kristi Kamen
Assistant Director NSDC
Kristi has played a critical role on the NSDC team for six years and counting.  During the school year, Kristi teaches pre-k at Lutz and has been part of the JCYS family for 20+ years.  She holds a Masters in Early Childhood Education and Special Education, but it's been the past six years at NSDC that have created some of her fondest memories. As a parent of two NSDC campers, she also brings a parent perspective to the planning and implementation of camp activities.

Jori (Jo) Spivak

Program Director

NSDC

Jo is starting her second year at NSDC and her first year as program director.  Lutz children know her amazing, sunny personality and gung-ho, energetic attitude as one of Lutz's Kindergarten Enrichment teachers.  She brings years of camp experience to this role, as she was a counselor and unit head for more than 10 years.  Jo brings great, fun, new ideas to camp.

Mike Swider

Program Director

NSDC Sports

Although Mike is the newest member to team NSDC, he is no stranger to camp.  Mike not only attended NSDC as a camper, while in college, he served as a counselor and then a unit head.  Mike is all about sports and kids.  His enjoyment of sports, passion for sportsmanship, and ability to teach the necessary skills are evident in his smile and fun attitude, and are just a few of the things that make him a wonderful addition to our team.   Everyone knows Mike's great smile because during the school year, Mike teaches pre-k and the after school children at Lutz.   NSDC Sports is housed at our amazing sports and recreation facility- The Lillian L. Lutz Recreation Center in Highland Park.
